Ventura Port

Located on the Maasvlakte, at the edge of the Port of Rotterdam, Ventura Port is a small-scale guest accommodation with a restaurant, integrated into the base of a wind turbine. Inspired by the harbour’s iconic shipping containers, the design consists of dark metal-clad volumes, seemingly stacked at random and oriented towards the North Sea. A larger volume, wrapped in frosted glass, welcomes visitors while offering subtle glimpses of the interior. At the heart of the building, a central atrium wraps around the wind turbine, connecting the different container-like volumes and drawing the eye upwards towards the blades. Ventura Port brings together industrial architecture, hospitality and the surrounding landscape in a unique spatial experience.
